Whoa!

Hi to all,

I'm sorry for the lateness of this blog, internet service is hard to come by or low on the list when you move across the country! I'll do my best to update this sucker on whatever I'm doing but I will mention I'm not that great at updating these things. This blog basically serves as a purpose to tell anyone who wants to know what I'm doing in Oregon, what it's like, how Americorps is going, my explorations, etc. etc. So this blog will be very unorganized and scatter brained, much like my text messages and voicemails that I leave many of you. Please hit me back with comments, that's always fun!

I got my first real taste of the Northwest "winter" or as most people call it, lots and lots of rain. I still haven't gotten fenders for my bike yet, so I have a wet butt today at work :) That being said, I'm at work, if you don't know I'm participating in Americorps until the end of July, working as a Wellness Coordinator at Lincoln Middle School in Oakland, OR (a tiny town with less than 1,000 inhabitants). I teach bike safety, bike maintenance(more like I'm being taught by some students), promote walking and biking to school through various activities, trying to start a school garden and beef up our recycling program, among other things.

There is so much to say since I've been here for about two months, so maybe someday I'll update everyone as best I can but that's all for now.
